Do you know any similar books with those kind of father/daughter relationships?

  • Hmm…it’s pretty unusual to have a story where the teen daughter becomes the caretaker of a messed-up parent. Two titles do come to mind, though:

    1) “First Day on Earth” by Cecil Castelluci (reviewed here: http://www.60secondrecap.com/reviews/first-day-on-earth/ )

    2) “The Moon and More” by Sarah Dessen.

Neither is identical to “Impossible Knife” in terms of the relationship dynamics, but both tell the story of a kid with a complicated father relationship. (The protagonist in “First Day on Earth” is a guy, fyi)

    Hope that helps!
