In this story of adventure and romance on the high seas, there are handsome bachelors to be snagged, and high society to be won over, by mice and humans alike. It all begins when the (human) Cranstons sail off toward a (hopefully) more promising future for their daughters, and their rodent counterparts (the “downstairs” Cranstons) follow. (Stowed away in the human Cranstons’ luggage, of course.)
Told from the perspective of oldest mouse sister, Helena, this tale is classic effortless storytelling from Richard Peck—and a book you won’t want to miss.
